The abstract quilting on this artful jacket makes it interesting and the hand loomed fabric makes it special.
The yarns are spun by hand and then the fabric is woven on a handloom by a co-op of women weavers in central India. This style of handmade cotton fabric is called khadi, a traditional Indian fabric that gives a lofty and soft feel. the co-op provides training, childcare and ethical employment to village women who otherwise would have few alternatives. This organization also operates a handloom school to further help sustain the declining craft of sustainable handloom weaving.
100% cotton. Lined and filled with 100% cotton. Center front covered buttons. pockets. This is a lightweight jacket.
